Michele Buonanotte is originally from Chicago, Illinois where her mother introduced her to the world of creative expression through art. Since moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 1984, she has traveled extensively, throughout the world, observing and absorbing. Interesting, unusual and fresh ideas gathered from these adventures have provided additional inspiration for Michele's continually innovative approach to her art. Although she has exhibited and sold her work for many years, in 1998 she started chelé to more appropriately showcase her talents and creations.

Michele has enjoyed working with many different artistic media. Her stained glass is present in numerous homes in Illinois, California, New York, Florida, and Georgia. It was also often exhibited at Glass Art Gallery in Atlanta. Michele's work with clay and ceramics covered the spectrum from hand built and wheel thrown to raku and was regularly shown at the Spruill Center for the Arts and Camerton Place Gallery as well as being included in the corporate collection of The Shopping Center Group. Her hand painted furniture and hand painted boxes have also been displayed at Camerton Place and at various art shows throughout the Atlanta area. But, Michele's current work with jewelry, under the chelé label, has proven to be the best ever expression of her talent and creativity.

Michele's handcrafted jewelry is made with silver, gold, semi-precious stones and all manner of natural and fancy colored pearls. Ranging from classic to dramatic, all of the designs in the chelé line are stunning. Her unique pieces are truly "wearable art".
